Honeywell announced the official inauguration of its Sustainable Development Digital Intelligence Innovation Center (hereinafter referred to as the “Innovation Center”) in Port of Tianjin Free Trade Zone, which will be committed to technology development and industrial application in energy conservation and emission reduction, digital, intelligent manufacturing and other fields. The Innovation Center is another strategic solution of Honeywell and Port of Tianjin Free Trade Zone after the project of “Honeywell Process Control China Operation and R&D Center”, aiming to give play to the advantageous resources of both sides and promote the sustainable development of the industry and the transformation and upgrading of digital intelligence.

Under the global wave of green and low-carbon development and digitization, the establishment of the Sustainable Development Digital Intelligence Innovation Center is an important milestone in the high-quality development of Honeywell’s empowerment industry. Honeywell and Port of Tianjin Free Trade Zone are committed to building the innovation center into an innovation engine integrating incubation, training, immersive intelligent interaction and other functions, and integrating internal and industrial collaboration platforms. Both sides will actively explore the formation of industrial chain linkage effects, create a digital intelligent manufacturing ecosystem and a good regional level emission management system.

On the same day, during the unveiling event of the Innovation Center, Honeywell also signed a strategic cooperation memorandum with Tianjin Bohai Chemical Group Co., Ltd. The two sides looked forward to jointly carrying out low-carbon technology exchanges and cooperation based on Honeywell’s research and innovation layout in Tianjin. According to the signed memorandum, both parties will focus on plastic chemical cycling and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) technology, explore and promote the landing and implementation of relevant projects in Tianjin.
Honeywell and Port of Tianjin Free Trade Zone have achieved fruitful cooperation. During the fourth China International Import Expo in 2021, Honeywell and the Port of Tianjin Free Trade Zone Management Committee successfully signed the “Honeywell Process Control China Operation and Research and Development Center” project, with a construction area of more than 10000 square meters. This marks the integration of Honeywell’s globally leading technology research and development center into Tianjin, leveraging the company’s comprehensive operational advantages to assist China’s intelligent manufacturing and digital development. At present, over 200 technical talents have settled in the center. At the same time, the center also integrates technology, engineering, system Integration testing and market promotion, and has one-stop comprehensive operation capability to help Chinese customers accelerate Digital transformation and promote intelligent development.
In April of this year, Honeywell announced the launch of new process technologies and emission management solutions for the preparation of sustainable aviation fuels in the Chinese market at the “New Carbon Road – Honeywell Green Development Summit” held in Tianjin. At the summit, Honeywell also signed a memorandum of cooperation with Port of Tianjin Free Trade Zone, which is intended to give full play to Tianjin’s regional advantages and industrial resources, combine Honeywell’s advanced technology, catalysts and equipment, and explore the first benchmark project of building a sustainable aviation fuel production base in North China in Port of Tianjin Free Trade Zone, so as to help meet the growing demand for sustainable aviation fuel market.
Honeywell has taken root in Tianjin Development for 30 years. In 1993, Sinopec Honeywell (Tianjin) Co., Ltd. was established, which was jointly funded by Honeywell and China Petrochemical Corporation. As Honeywell’s first joint venture in China, Sinopec Honeywell (Tianjin) Co., Ltd. celebrated its 30th anniversary this year.
