This time, the group company of Nideco Corporation, Nideco Power Systems (formerly known as Nissan Tosei), has developed a new product for the clutch control module of hybrid electric vehicles.

Despite the continuous tightening of environmental policies and the increasing demand for pure electric vehicles (BEVs), hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) still maintain a high market share due to issues such as charging infrastructure and battery capacity. This product uses the motor as the power source during low-speed driving and acceleration, and the engine as the power source during high-speed cruising. It is a powertrain of a “strong hybrid power system”. When the power switches from the motor to the engine, it plays a role in switching the clutch.
Nideco Power Systems has long possessed advanced technology in aluminum die-casting, linear solenoid valves for controlling hydraulic pressure, and solenoid valves for switching hydraulic switches. It also produces control valves for continuously variable transmissions (CVTs) and automotive component casings. The electromagnetic valve of the clutch control device developed this time is made of resin material, which is 35% lighter than the existing products of Nideco Power System. In addition, die castings can be flexibly designed according to customer requirements for functionality and layout.
In the future, Nideco Power Systems will continue to serve as a globally powerful comprehensive motor manufacturer group, developing products that fully utilize advanced component processing technology, and providing innovative solutions to promote the rapid development of automobiles.
