A few days ago at the Xiaomi car technology press conference, Lei Jun introduced the performance of the Xiaomi SU7 and stated that the Xiaomi Super Motor V6 and V6s were jointly developed with Liandian and Huichuan Technology, while the Xiaomi Super Motor V8s was independently developed and produced by Xiaomi.
In terms of progress, the Xiaomi Super Electric V6 and V6s have achieved mass production and are expected to be put into use, while the V8s is expected to wait until 2025. The third-generation motor with a rotational speed of 35000rpm still needs time and is currently in the pre research stage in the laboratory.
However, after the press conference, there were some controversies online, reportedly due to some netizens ignoring the fact that V6 and V6s were developed in collaboration with Liandian and Huichuan Technology, claiming that Xiaomi was promoting its own research using supply chain technology.
According to the Shenzhen Stock Exchange’s interactive platform, an investor asked Huichuan Technology “how is the current progress of the electric motor jointly developed by the company and Xiaomi Motors?” Huichuan Technology replied, “Huichuan participated in the joint research and development of Xiaomi’s super motor V6s, and the V8s electric motor series was self-developed by Xiaomi.”The Xiaomi Super Motor V8s claims to have the world’s top speed of 27200rpm, with a maximum horsepower of 578PS, a peak power of 425kW, a peak torque of 635N · m, and a maximum efficiency of 98.11%. The motor power density can reach 10.14kW/kg and will be launched in 2025.
In addition, the motor claims to be the industry’s first 960MPa special silicon steel sheet, fully self-developed fixed rotor design, bi-directional full oil cooling and cooling, S-shaped three-dimensional oil circuit design, 54 slots and 6 poles design, 8-layer Hairpin flat wire winding, with a slot filling rate of 77%.
Xiaomi also revealed that the company’s laboratory has pre developed a 35000rpm speed motor.
