Description
The PFVL141 Millmate Roll Force weighing sensor is an integral part of the rolling mill frame. A rock solid Pressconductor ® The combination of weighing sensor design with intelligent and reliable communication functions is the key to true rolling force measurement. Due to its low impedance and high output signal power, the Millmate Roll Force weighing sensor has extremely low sensitivity to insulation defects and maintains measurement accuracy as low as 10 Ω k insulation level. The output signal of the weighing sensor has been calibrated to achieve complete interchangeability between weighing sensors of the same type and size. ABB has many years of experience in installing load sensors in various rolling mills, covering almost all possible rolling force measurement applications with various types and wide load ranges. In order to obtain the best measurement results, certain basic rules must be followed when installing the load cell: the entire force must pass through the load cell. The measured force must be as close as possible to the force source (roll gap). The load cell must be protected to the greatest extent possible from the influence of large bending, lateral, and torsional forces. In order to be installed below the mill screw, the weighing sensor can be combined with the thrust bearing and pressure plate to form a component attached to the mill screw. This arrangement achieves good force distribution, simple, inexpensive installation, and easy maintenance. In addition, there is no need to machine any surface on the rolling mill frame. However, this arrangement does occupy the space in the rolling shutter window. The lower part of the rolling mill frame below the lower support roller bearing must have a sufficiently large flat surface to allow for the installation of a weighing sensor below the lower support roller bearing. The advantage of this arrangement is that there is no need to pay special attention to the load cell during roll changing. Please also refer to the quotation on the right for the load cell kit. This version can measure the annular load cell between the milling nut and the milling machine frame even when there is insufficient space below the milling screw and the lower support roller bearing. Another advantage of this arrangement is that there is no need to pay special attention to the weighing sensor when changing rolls, and it is well protected. The first Presssensor sensor technology was developed in Westeros, Sweden in the early 1950s and was patented in 1954. ABB Famous Pressconductor ® Technology is a measurement principle based on the magnetoelastic effect – the magnetism of a material is affected by the applied mechanical force. When subjected to mechanical force, ABB’s pressure sensor generates a measurement signal due to changes in the magnetic field. (Move the mouse over the illustration to view these changes.) As these signals are not dependent on physical motion or deformation, the load cell combines sensitivity with strong overload resistance, and has almost no built-in limit on the number of load cycles. ABB Pressconductor sensors can generate high-power, low impedance AC signals and have strong resistance to electrical interference and ground faults. ABB’s Pressconductor sensor has unparalleled load cell performance, thanks to its unique combination of accuracy, overload capacity, and ability to withstand harsh environments. By using this technology, you will achieve higher quality and reliability, especially under harsh conditions.
