ABB and Carnival Group Sign Azipod ® Strategic Cooperation Agreement for Podded Propulsion System Services

This long-term cooperation agreement covers Azipod ® Ship services related to XO pod propulsion system

Carnival Group will fully benefit from optimized maintenance plans, service capabilities, and ABB’s global digital services

This cooperation will help Carnival Group significantly improve ship performance, improve user experience, and achieve excellent operations

Recently, ABB and Carnival Group signed a long-term strategic cooperation agreement aimed at providing systematic maintenance planning, critical spare parts management services, and advanced digital condition monitoring solutions for their fleet, strengthening cooperation between the two sides in the fields of excellent operation and ship performance.

　　Carnival Cruise Company has equipped over 40 cruise ships of its various brands with Azipod ® Pod propulsion system

　　This 15 year agreement includes providing Azipod for various world-class brand ships under the Carnival Group ® XO pod propulsion system maintenance services. Azipod ® The XO pod propulsion system is a solution specially designed by ABB for high-power open water applications, particularly suitable for luxury cruise ships.

　　According to this agreement, ABB experts will utilize ABB Ability ™ Remote diagnostic system and ABB capability ™ The status monitoring system is Azipod ® The pod thruster performs remote status detection and troubleshooting, providing 24/7 support for onboard engineering and maintenance personnel, simplifying Azipod ® Service management of XO pod thrusters. These systems can collect, store, and analyze Azipods ® The performance data of the pod propulsion system helps shipowners improve the predictability and cost-effectiveness of spare parts management and dry dock maintenance.
