The junction box PFXA401SF , an advanced tension electronic device, can provide up to four weighing sensors and has six configurable analog outputs for controlling and/or monitoring web tension. Profibus DP also provides output signals. Another useful feature is the ability to switch gain (gain scheduling) and zeroing between two different network paths through digital input or Profibus. The device also includes a self diagnostic function and four configurable digital outputs for alarm and liquid level detection. The status of the self diagnostic function can also be obtained on Profibus DP. By combining up to three PFEA113, the system can handle segmented drum applications, such as winding machines with up to 12 weighing sensors. The high-level functionality and user-friendly nature of PFEA113 make it one of the most complete tension electronic devices on the market. Tension Electronics covers a wide range of applications and comes in three versions (PFEA 111 and PFEA 112 are described in separate manuals), with different levels of performance and functionality. All three versions have a multilingual digital display and configuration keys. The configuration key is used to set different parameters and check the status of the tension system. A 2 x 16 character display screen can display total, difference, or individual weighing sensor signals. All three versions are available in DIN rail version (IP 20 version, unsealed) and enclosed IP 65 version (NEMA 4) for installation in more harsh environments. This device is suitable for various manufacturing processes, where any type of roll material, such as paper, plastic, or textiles, is transported in a machine. The only requirement is to wrap the fiber mesh on the reel. The force on the roller is directly proportional to the tension of the material. The generated force is transmitted to the weighing sensor through the bearing seat. The weighing sensor generates a signal proportional to the force acting on the measuring direction of the weighing sensor. This signal is processed and amplified in tension electronic devices and can be used as an input signal for process control, display on a monitor, or recording.
