The PN800 factory network supports the IEC 62439 Parallel Redundancy Protocol (PRP). PRP provides optimal control network reliability and performance by eliminating single points of failure and supporting zero switching time in the event of network component failures.

PN800 factory network redundancy is based on PRP (parallel redundancy protocol of IEC 62439). According to IEC 62439, the redundant PN800 control network consists of two LANs (local area networks), PN800A and PN800B with the same topology.

The PNI800 feature has been virtualized and can be used as an optional “VPNI” software for SPE engineering, SPO and 800xA operation HMI software, as well as general interface software (such as Harmony OPC servers). The performance and capacity of PNI800 and VPNI software may differ.

 

 

800 Series Turbine Module

The 800 series turbine module is a powerful, DIN rail installable, Profibus based valve positioning (VP800), turbine protection (TP800), and automatic synchronization (AS800) solution. These modules can be fully integrated into Symphony Plus, 800xA, or any other DCS platform that supports Profibus, or used for independent configuration with hardwired signals as the only interface. In integrated mode, the 800 series modules are configured through DCS engineering and HMI environment. As independent devices, they are configured using PC based applications called turbine automation power tools.

The 800 series status monitoring module (MCM800) provides additional turbine monitoring solutions (vibration, eccentricity, differential expansion, thrust position, and shell expansion) to supplement its functionality.
