  Product Description

DS200RTBAG3A is a Mark V series relay terminal board developed by General Electric. Installed hosts are provided with an additional ten relay points when using this board. A number of GE brand exciters and drives can have this card installed into their operating cabinets. The relays can be driven remotely by the user or by the onboard LAN I/O terminal control board. On this board, the ten relays are comprised of two different types. Seven of the relays are DPDT type found in locations K20 through K26. Individually, DPDT relays each include two Form C contacts. Each contact on these types of relays rate at 10A. The other three relays in positions K27 through K29 are 4PDT type. These relays types include four Form C contacts. Contacts within these rate at 1A each. I/O for all relays is protected by a 130 VAC MOV (metal oxide varistor). Each relay also contains a 110 VDC coil to ensure proper board function. Should any relay fail, users can quickly and easily remove and replace any relay found on DS200RTBAG3A. Both the board and the drive are provided a set of installation parameters determined by the manufacturer. Following these will ensure that the board and its installed drive operate as expected. To review a complete wiring guide for DS200RTBAG3A, please refer to either the series manual or the device datasheet. The Mark V series of optional and replacement boards was originally provided with technical service by the manufacturer, General Electric.

How are the relays driven on DS200RTBAG3A?

The 10 relays on DS200RTBAG3A are driven either directly from the pilot relays on the LAN I/O Terminal Board or DS200RTBAG3A’s relays can be driven remotely by the user.

What are relays K20-K26 on DS200RTBAG3A?

Relays K20-K26 on DS200RTBAG3A are the DPDT type relays and these relays on DS200RTBAG3A have a 115 VAC coil with 10 A DPDT contacts.

Where can I find information on replacing a DS200RTBAG3A?

The manual for DS200RTBAG3A, Manual GEI-100167, has a section on renewal/warranty replacement for RTBA boards. This section in the manual identifies the DS200RTBAG3A board, provides warranty terms and warranty parts and service for DS200RTBAG3A, and provides a procedure for replacing DS200RTBAG3A boards. Other than the manual, the best way to find information on replacing DS200RTBAG3A or DS200RTBAG3A’s relays is to speak to an expert at AX. We can also provide you with the DS200RTBAG3A manual.

What is pin 15 on DS200RTBAG3A?

Pin #15 on DS200RTBAG3A is identified by an RX7 nomenclature and this pin on DS200RTBAG3A is the RX7 pilot input from LTB for DS200RTBAG3A relay K26 connector RPL pin.

DS200RTBAG3A is an RTBA Relay Terminal Board developed by GE under EX2000. The board is a supplemental board that can be found inside the drive or exciter cabinet. Ten relays are offered, and they can be operated either remotely by the user or directly from the pilot relays on the LAN I/O Terminal Board. Seven of the ten relays (DPDT relays) have two Form C contacts, and the remaining three relays have four Form C contacts (4PDT relays).

DS200RTBAG3A Board Relay Replacement To replace an RTBA board relay: Cut off the drive’s power. To access the board, open the drive’s cabinet door. (The RTBA board is typically found beneath the board rack of the drive.) Press on the retaining clip’s top and pull on either side to release it, then remove it from the relay that needs to be replaced. To remove the outdated relay, simply pull it out of the relay socket. Position the new relay in the socket (it will only fit one way) and push it into place. Stab Connector Descriptions CPH Positive side (hot) pluggable circuit control power for RTBA Board pluggable circuits For RTBA Board pluggable circuits, CPN Pluggable circuit Control Power Negative Side DS200RTBAG3A Board Replacement To replace an RTBA board: Turn off the drive’s power and wait a few minutes for the capacitors to discharge. To make sure the power is off, test any electrical circuits before handling them. To access the board, open the cabinet door on the drive.

Carefully detach each cable from the RTBA board in the manner described below: Take hold of the cable connector’s mating sides on ribbon cables and gently pull them apart from the board connector. Pull the tab slowly when there are pull tabs on cables. Unscrew the screw at the top of each RTB terminal to release any wires that are fastened to it. Then, carefully pull each wire-free. (Be sure to label the wires to make reconnection easier.) The CP1PL–CP5PL and Y9PL–Y37PL two-conductor plugs have built-in holding clips. To release the connector, depress the connector lever. Take out the four washer-mounted screws holding the RTBA board to the four standoffs. To prevent damage from occurring, avoid dropping mounting hardware into the device. Place all configurable components in the same positions on the replacement (new)board as they were on the one being replaced (old board). After removing the four screws and washers in step 4, assemble the new board on the four standoffs. Reattach all cables that were cut off in step 3, making sure that each connector is seated correctly on both ends. Attach each individual wire that was cut off in step 3 (as indicated by labeling), making sure that each wire is securely fastened in the terminal.
