Components 8440-2052 have control functions such as load sharing, circuit breaker control logic, AMF (automatic power failure), and standby operation, as well as single or multiple operation of up to 32 generator sets. After optimization, they can be used in various applications. The control unit of this generator set is part of the Woodward easYgen-3000 series.

Parts 8440-2052 are 3200-P2 models. As a 3200 model, this controller has a built-in operator interface on the front panel of the plastic casing of the device. Kit 2 (P2) model comes with additional control functions for three PID controllers, which can be freely configured. It has a 5A CT input and is designed for front panel installation. Components 8440-2052 have a 12/24 VDC (8 to 40 VDC) power supply.

EasYgen models 8440-2052 use magnetic/switch pickups to measure speed input at a frequency of 50/60 Hz (40 to 85 Hz). Speed, frequency, voltage, power factor, excitation, and many other set points can be configured to maximize protection for the generator, engine, and power supply. There are 12 discrete alarm outputs, of which 10 are configurable.

Configuration can be done through a PC (using ToolKit software) or directly through the control unit itself using the built-in HMI. This operator interface has a keyboard and a color LCD, and can be accessed using the multi-level password protection feature of the 8440-2052 model. This software offers 14 languages.
