No multi-vendor communication software licensing isrequired. The I/A Series DCS FBM family replaces theWestinghouse WDPF I/O Q-Cards. Once integrated,the process is controlled entirely by theadvancedVA Series algorithm set.The I/A Series DCS FBMs provide access to allprocess signals connected to the Westinghousesystem by providing the connection between theTermination Assemblies (F TAs) and theVA Series system. AIl process signals become fullyintegrated into the VA Series system. Process data isused for: operator display, history, alarming, control.
Operator functions and engineeing configuration isaccomplished by the I/A Series system. Thismigration path provides plant operations with all the
power and fexiblity of the VA Series system. Allprocess values can be used plant wide for control,display, history, alarming and information

PRODUCT DESCRIPTIONSThe /A Series migration strategy replaces the WDPFDistributed Process Unit (DPU) with an VA Seriescontrol processor/FCM and provides a card-for-card
replacement of /O modules, but leaves the originalprocess interface wiring and cabinets in place.
New I/A Series system DCS FBMs plug directly intoexisting Q-Crates in place of Westinghouse /0Q-Cards. Q-Cards are removed from the Q-Crateand their termination assemblies detached. Each unitis replaced by a corresponding /A Series systemDCS FBM. The original /O card termination unitsmounted on the front of the /O cards are reused.
