  Product Description

The IS200TBCIH4C model is marked as a discrete I/O package and is used in conjunction with the YDIA discrete input module for the Mark VI series. The PDIA model can use several different related terminal boards, including:

IS200STCIH1A

IS200STCIH8A

IS200TBCIH2C

IS200TCIH2A

These models are all used in conjunction with PDIA and have been approved for use in hazardous locations. When used in hazardous environments, specific certifications are required. ULE207685 certification is used for non hazardous, Class I, Zone 2, Group IIC, and Class I, Zone 2, Groups A, B, C, and D. When used in ATEX Zone 2 IIC group premises, specific certification is required, certified as UL DEMKO 12 ATEX 1114875X.

Compared to other models in the Mark VI series, the IS200TBCIH4C may not necessarily have a specific panel as it is an I/O package. On the front of the device, there are seven indicator lights. On the right side of the package, a set of three indicator lights is used to indicate the power supply, two indicator lights are used to indicate the link, one indicates ENet1, and the other indicates ENet2. Below these three indicator lights, there is an Ethernet port used to connect the model to Ethernet for easy Ethernet communication.IS200TBCIS2CCD

The IS200TBCIH4C package has two position standards, two of which are UL 600790 Ed. 5 and UL 60079-15 Ed. 3, used for Class I Zone 2 Group IIC. This information can be found in the GEH-6725 Mark VI Control Equipment Hazloc manual, which is located above the manual tab.

  Function Description:

IS200TBCIH4C is a contact input with group isolated terminal blocks manufactured and designed by General Electric, and belongs to the Mark VI series used in GE Speedtronic gas turbine control systems. A group isolation terminal board is an electronic device used to manage and isolate electrical connections of input or output signals from different groups. It is commonly used in industrial and automation systems to ensure signal integrity, safety, and ease of maintenance. The main purpose of group isolation terminal boards is to separate the electrical signals of one group from those of other groups. This isolation can prevent interference and crosstalk between different parts of the system, ensuring that each group operates independently and reliably. Terminal boards are typically composed of multiple individual terminals or channels, divided into different groups. Each group is isolated from other groups through internal circuits or components. This isolation can be achieved using various methods, such as optocouplers or relays, depending on the requirements of the application.

  Installation:

The system configuration includes the integration of 24 dry contact inputs, which are carefully interconnected through a direct wiring process. These inputs are seamlessly routed to two different I/O wiring blocks, which are firmly fixed to the wiring blocks. These patch panels further enhance their functionality and help efficiently manage input connections.IS200TBCIS2CCD(2)

Each I/O wiring terminal is securely fixed in place with two screws. This mechanical arrangement not only ensures a secure connection, but also provides convenience for disassembly during maintenance. This design considers improving the overall maintainability of the wiring board, allowing for easy access to wiring terminals for inspection, repair, or replacement as needed.

In terms of wiring, each terminal is equipped with a total of 24 terminals. These terminals are carefully designed to accommodate wires up to # 12 AWG, providing wide compatibility to meet different wiring needs. This design helps seamlessly integrate different wire gauges to meet the requirements of various specific applications.

In order to maintain a reliable grounding configuration, shielded terminal blocks are carefully arranged next to each terminal block. These shielded terminal blocks are intentionally connected to the ground of the chassis, enhancing the integrity of the system against electromagnetic interference and other potential interferences. This strategic layout ensures effective management of grounding and the effective transfer of any external electrical noise from sensitive components connected to terminal blocks.

  Surgery:

Filters are installed near the entry point of each signal to effectively eliminate high-frequency noise and suppress surge effects. For the dry contact input of H1, its operation depends on the floating 125 V DC (range between 100-145 V DC) power supply from the turbine control system. Before reaching each contact input, the 125 V DC bus is limited by current within the distribution module.

For H2 and H3 models, use a lower voltage as stated in the provided specification table. The discrete input voltage signal continues to advance to the I/O processor and is then transmitted through an optical isolator. These isolators play a dual role: they establish group isolation, effectively isolating different signal groups, and then transmitting fine signals to the overall system controller.

The isolation circuit uses a reference voltage to establish a conversion threshold that is precisely aligned with 50% of the applied floating power supply voltage. It is worth noting that the tracking mechanism is configured to ensure that it does not fall below 13% of the rated power supply voltage. The purpose of this strategic clamping is to force all contacts to indicate an open state whenever the voltage drops below this specified threshold.

  Frequently asked questions:

What is the purpose of monitoring excitation voltage?

Monitoring the excitation voltage can ensure that the power supply remains at an acceptable level to ensure normal operation. It can prevent potential problems caused by insufficient excitation voltage.

What measures will be taken if the excitation voltage drops below 40% of the nominal voltage?

If the excitation voltage is below 40% of the nominal value, the I/O package will trigger and lock a diagnostic alarm. This alert alerts the operator to pay attention to voltage drop issues.

How will the inputs related to the terminal board be affected during testing?

As part of the testing, all inputs related to a specific terminal board are forced into an open contact state to ensure fault safe configuration during testing or troubleshooting.
