IS215UCCAH3A is a distribution module developed by General Electric. It is part of the Mark VIe Speedtronic control system. This board distributes 28 V DC (control power supply) and 48 V/24 V DC (wetting power supply) to other control system boards. It also includes sensing circuits for two AC distribution channels. The JDPG 28 V DC power distribution section receives two independent power inputs through external diodes. JPDG and PPDA I/O packages are integrated into the PDM system feedback. It can sense and diagnose two AC signals distributed outside the board. The IS215UCCAH3A board can be used not only with PDM (also known as distribution module), but also with PPDA (also known as distribution system feedback module). When used together with the PPDA module, it will help monitor the power health of the distribution system. In the PDM system, the JPDG board can supply power to up to four JPDH boards through J1-J4 connectors. In addition to powering up to four JPDH boards, the IS215UCCAH3A board can also use JFA-JFG and wire harness type EN with I/O wetting power supply to power up to seven IO terminal boards.

The JPDG board receives 28 V DC input power from external AC/DC or DC/DC converters and distributes it to the control system for control distribution.

All 28 V DC outputs on the board are equipped with fuse protection. JPDG can operate at 24 V DC or 48 V DC to achieve wet distribution.

The board receives DC power from two power sources and distributes it to the terminal board and other system loads through external diodes. The high-capacity 500 W-24 V input/28 V output power supply that provides I/O pack control power is not powered by JPDG. This component uses resistors to support a floating DC wet power bus centered around the Earth.

Mark VIeS safety control is an independent safety control system suitable for safety critical applications that comply with IEC-61508. It also uses the ControlST software suite for easy maintenance, while retaining a unique set of authorized hardware and software modules.

The ToolboxST application allows the Mark VIeS to be locked or unlocked for configuration and Safety Instrumented Function (SIF) programming.

Installation

JPDG is vertically installed on the metal bracket of the PDM cabinet. P2 is a 50 pin diagnostic connector installed at the bottom of the circuit board.

JPDG is fixed to the module base with four screws through the installation holes at the top and bottom. The position of the distribution board inside the control cabinet is not important; However, the distribution board is usually installed at a lower position inside the cabinet for easy grounding. Connector JA1 is used to connect PPDA I/O packs.

It is connected to the JPDG base through a corner bracket and secured in place by a nut screwed onto a bolt permanently fixed to the base. The diagnostic feedback input of other distribution boards is routed to JPDG through a 50 pin ribbon cable connected to connector P2.

Grounding

The circuit board is grounded to the bottom base through a metal plate bracket. This is usually FE grounding. When creating feedback signals seen on P2, FE ground is used as a local reference point. The use of functional grounding as a grounding reference has no effect on the accuracy of AC voltage detection on JAC1.
