IS220PDIOH1A is a key component of the GE Speedtronic MKVIe gas turbine control system.
The I/O package contains two Ethernet ports, a power supply, a local processor, and a data collection board.
IS220PDIOH1A – IO Pack, Discrete I/O MK Vie, Version E IS220PAOCH1A is an analog output module manufactured by General Electric and used as part of Mark VIe for gas turbine control and management systems. The electrical interface between one or two I/O Ethernet networks and the analog output terminal board is provided by the analog output (PAOC). The BPPx processor board and the collection board pair customized for analog output function both exist in PAOC. PAOC can provide up to eight simplex, 0-20 mA current loop outputs, and it also has an analog-to-digital converter for each output current feedback. Dual RJ-45 Ethernet connectors and a three pin power input are used as inputs for PAOC. The relevant terminal board connectors are directly connected to the output through DC-37-pin connectors. LED indicator lights are used to display visual diagnosis.
PAOC compatibility:
One of the following BPPx processor boards is compatible with the PAOC I/O pack:
:
PAOCH1A has a BPPB processor board inside.
The control ST * software suite V04.06 and higher supports BPPC compatible with PAOCH1B functionality.
Only the analog output terminal boards TBAOH1C and STAOH1A/H2A indicated in the attached table are compatible with PAOC.
PAOC I/O package installation:
Firmly install the selected terminal board.
Connect the PAOC I/O package directly to the connector on the wiring board.
Use the double headed bolts next to the Ethernet port to mechanically secure the I/O package. The studs slide into the mounting brackets made for specific types of terminal blocks.
It is important to place the bracket so that the DC-37-pin connector connecting the I/O package and wiring board is not subjected to right angle forces. During the lifespan of the product, adjustments only need to be made once.
Connect one or two Ethernet cables according to the machine settings. Any port can be used with I/O packets. When using dual connections, ENET1 is usually linked to the network connected to the R controller.
Connect the connector on the side of the PAOC to power the I/O package. Due to the inherent soft start function of I/O components, which can regulate current surges in power applications, there is no need to turn off the power supply before inserting the cable.
If necessary, use the ToolboxST * program to set up the I/O package. Press F1 to access the Help menu of the Component Editor.
Analog output hardware:
PAOC contains eight simplex 0-20 mA analog outputs that meet the 18 V standard. The external transistor amplifier is controlled and driven by a 16 bit to analog converter (DAC), which also controls the output current. In order to alert the controller when the internal temperature of the battery pack is too high, a temperature sensor is built into the circuit board. In addition, each analog output circuit has a mechanical normally open relay that controls whether the output is enabled or disabled. When the disabled relay is turned off, the output flows through the relay and opens the circuit between the customer load connected to the terminal board and the analog output of the PAOC. The position of the mechanical relay is signaled by the LED using the second normally open contact of the relay.
Frequently asked questions
What is an I/O module?
I/O modules are components that handle interface specific tasks and are used to connect the CPU to the rest of the system.
Is the product a genuine OEM unit?
These projects have passed WOC quality control certification and are truly OEM units obtained through OEM or independent third-party channels.
Current feedback hardware:
For each of the eight simplex 0-20 mA analog outputs, PAOC includes current feedback monitoring. Use a 16 bit analog-to-digital converter and a 50 Ω resistor on the wiring board to detect and track the output current.
The PAOC I/O package has eight linear, highly compliant analog outputs, with application limitations based on its possible surrounding environment. The design operating temperature range of the PAOCH1B battery pack is -40 to 70 oC (-40 to 158 oF), measured from outside the battery pack. Due to its dense triple circuit board layout, and depending on the application, the maximum surrounding environment of PAOC must be reduced. The following is a list of output configurations and the necessary derating for each configuration. As demonstrated by the terminal block screws within the 0-20 mA output range, the minimum series equivalent resistance of the customer load is the definition of the minimum output impedance.
The PAOC I/O package performs the following self diagnostic tests:
Power on self check, check the hardware, Ethernet ports, RAM, and flash memory on the processor board.
Continuously check if the internal power supply is working properly
Verify whether the hardware set matches by comparing electronic ID data from the CPU, collection board, and terminal board, and then check whether the application code loaded from flash memory is suitable for the hardware set.
Use a moderate load resistor on the terminal board to detect the analog output current. To verify whether the circuit in the analog-to-digital converter is working properly, the I/O component adjusts this signal and compares it with the command current.
Continuously check whether the analog output suicide relay meets the command conditions and feedback instructions.
PAOC specific abnormality
Possible reasons:
Exceeding the effective output range of analog output.
The feedback of the analog output is out of range.
The battery pack or wiring board hardware may have malfunctioned.
Solution:
Ensure that the analog output command is between 0 and 20 milliamperes (mA).
Check if the analog output feedback is consistent with the expected command.
Check the field wiring and connectors of the analog output.
If all activity simulation output feedback is not healthy under valid commands, there may be a circuit board failure. Replace the terminal board and I/O package.
