Product Description
The 8237 1600 model can be configured for use with turbines of any size, as long as it is powered by steam, gas, or water. The speed reading of this over acceleration device is between 4 and 20 milliamperes. If the turbine begins to accelerate dangerously, the model will safely shut down any size of turbine. The panel installation has a back panel structure, which is easy to repair and replace. The 8237 1600 model can be easily integrated into any turbine system and comes with Modbus communication. In addition to acceleration detection, it is also equipped with MPU detection. The coating of this product gives it the ability to resist sulfur pollution and can be used in 3C2 level environments.
Features and functions
Acceleration detection
ProTech-GII can also be configured to protect turbines from high acceleration events. The derivative of the speed signal is used to detect turbine acceleration and issue related tripping commands.
Host detection
The speed sensor input of each module uses a special MPU open circuit detection circuit to verify whether the MPU is correctly connected before turbine operation, and uses a special speed loss detection logic to verify the MPU function during turbine operation.
Automatic overspeed test program
You can choose to configure ProTech-GII to perform routine overspeed testing on each module, and then record and report the test results. Through this testing routine, each module uses an internal frequency generator to simulate overspeed conditions and complete its testing sequence.
Resistance to sulfur pollution
ProTech-GII uses a special conformal coating material that demonstrates excellent long-term protection against H2S and SO2 gases in the international standard IEC 721-3-1994- Environmental Class 3C2.
Online maintenance
The triple modular design of ProTech-GII allows users to easily replace one of the modules (A, B, C) while the turbine is online and running normally. The device’s backplane plug and play structure and its module to module learning function enhance the convenience of replacement.
